Section 48
Emergency Health Services and Management
: (1) There will be designated rapid response teams and emergency medical groups to provide immediate health services in emergency situations.
(2) Union, state and local levels should develop and implement emergency health plans.
(3) In accordance with sub-section (2), the provincial government and the local level when developing the plan shall do so in accordance with the standards and guidelines determined by the Government of Nepal in accordance with the federal law.
(4) The local level may declare a public health emergency in accordance with the prevailing law. However, if a disaster occurs at more than one local level, the concerned province and if a public health emergency situation is created in more than one province, the Government of Nepal can declare a public health emergency as prescribed.
(5) Information related to the declaration of a public health emergency should be disseminated through public media for all concerned.
(6) It can be added or removed based on the data and information available on other aspects including the time period and area of the public health disaster.
(7) Other arrangements related to emergency health conditions shall be as prescribed.
